    i think that this tool may have been used for applying gesso to frames and other decorative elements. I think it says 'Spear & Jackson Sheffield England', but i'm not sure. on the other side of it, there is an 'L' inside a diamond. I'd love to know more about it. it's amazingly well-made and durable. i use it all the time.

      You give no indication of size. It could be surgical or garden size.

      the piece is 9" from tip to tip.

      it's very tiny. the width of the spatula is less than 1/2" and the trowel is only 1" wide.

      Looks like tool used to do clay sculpturing

      i do a lot of stonework myself, and this piece is way too small for that - unless i was doing stonework for a dollhouse. i think it's more likely a sculpting tool, or for doing fine plaster detail.
