This badge(tinnie), from 1939. Richard Sieper & Sohne. In April, 1920, Hitler advocated that the German Workers Party (GWP) should change its name to the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP), later to become the Nazi Party. This badge is from the City and County of Worms.
What I want to know is what is the image of the man in the background supposed to be?

Hi, Jimbo! May I why the back of the pin appears to have a 1925 date but you know that it was issued in 1939? I know nothing about these pins. I am amazed by the number of Nazi decorations, pins, and patches that were issued in Nazi Germany.
I haven't a clue as to the identity of the figure in the background, but I'm going to take some wild guesses. If for nothing else, to amuse chinablue and yourself, sir. : ) Could he perhaps be Parsifal or Charlemagne? What about the Austrian Crown Jewels? These so-called magical relics were confiscated when Hitler seized Austria, and they were highly esteemed by high-ranking Nazi officials in Germany. Could the figure in the background be connected to these relics?

(I thought it might be a knight in chain mail, with a circlet on brow, but hadn't a clue as to his identity. Ha! The Nazi in shorts blowing the horn made me think that the artist might be invoking Parsifal, and the knight in chain mail might be Parsifal or Charlemagne. Ha!)

How very interesting, AR8Jason. 200 years is a long time! Yes, the Nazi pageantry was amazing, and very scary to me. And to think that all this happened in a very civilized and advanced country!
