I was brought up in this small town in NH. Davy Duggan was our milkman. I have fond memories of him in his truck riding through our neighborhood when I was small. He always carried a fresh supply of strawberry milk in pint containers for us kids. Seems to me they where two for a nickel...lol... My dad would sometimes run his milk route when Mr. Duggan was under the weather... Which he often was on Saturday and Sunday mornings... But hey, he was Irish so that was to be expected if get my drift... I found the bottle on ebay and just had to have it! Thanks for looking.
What great find toolate and good memories :-)
PS I think the milk has curdled though :-) Love it
Mani you are so funny!! It was a great find. I have Hinsdale in my favorite searches on ebay and I check it often. My father owned an Esso station there for a few years so I'm always looking for anything related to it... So far I haven't found anything... But I did get this milk bottle!!
Thanks eye4beauty!!
Thanks Bell and miKKo!!
Thanks pw and tony!!
Heck we were practically neighbors growing up since I was next door in Vermont. Our neighborhood milkman had a tiny mom & pop dairy just down the hill a ways from us, and his one delivery truck was red & white. I remember being fascinated by the idea that he would always drive it around standing up and with all the doors open.
I quarter Irish, I get your drift some of them did like the bottle, but they all loved to get together & have fun!
Nice story!
Wolf, this was a mom & pop operation as well. My dad worked at the dairy off and on from the time he was twelve or so until he got married. Then later he did the milk route for them...as needed...lol... Thanks for the love everybody!

I'm glad this popped up again. Hinsdale and Brattleboro were my stomping grounds back in the late 70's early 80's. I moved up to the Monadnock region for 20 years then moved to Florida. I brought a few NH milk bottles down with me and when I posted them on eBay I ended up shipping them to Milford, NH when they sold. This post brings back some fun memories. Thanks
Glad I could be of service fhrjr2! We moved to MD in the early 70's. I love it here but still think of that area a home...Till we get a major snowstorm and I'm reminded of those terrible winters up there! lol...
Thanks aghcollect, junkmanjoe, tom61375, and Aimathena!!!
