I cannot capture the intense blue of this most beautiful jug! I have found one the same on e-bay saying it is a Bristol Blue jug, circa 1920's/30's - is anyone able to confirm or throw a link to ascertain this? Would be most grateful as ever with any help from the CW crew!! It has small polished indentation on the bottom. Many thanks!

Can you possibly post a pic of the bottom and give us a size of this item? I can see it sets on your window sill, but don't know how big your sill is! *S* I'll be anxious to see what you find out. I have one similar, but with clear handle. Mine is only 7 inches tall but weighs in at 3 pounds! :-)

Some on here are really good with these type of items and the more info, the better your chance of finding information. If you can post a picture of the bottom, the pontil mark or punt mark can often be a big hint. Hope you have a good night/day at work. :-)

Chinablue, please check out the picture of the pontil and bottom of the jug! Mine is 7" tall too but is not as heavy as yours, weighing in at 2lbs 2oz. It was day at work thanks! Will continue to check out the Bristol Blue and let you know how I go on! Can you post a pic of yours?

Chinablue have just seen your jug on your past postings, it is much thicker than mine but very similar! Will keep you in the loop if I can glean any more info!

Hi Justanovice! I have the pitcher posted, but only with one photo. I'll try to get some other pictures, especially showing the base later this evening. (We're day sleepers/night workers and just now getting up *LOL*) I don't know who made mine and never really tried to find out, but I think when I post the other pictures, I'm going to put it in Unsolved to see what I can find out! I'll post a link to mine here after I get the pictures taken and posted, ok? :-)

Here is the link to the one I have that's similar. I'd love to know who made it and when too! And you're very welcome. http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/58809-please-help-identify-this-cobalt-pitcher#comment-253362

Surely someone with more knowledge than I have can give you more information with the great pictures you posted! So far, I've not found a piece of the same form listed as Bristol, but I'll keep my eyes open for it. :-)

Hi chinablue, was it the one on e-bay that you have found? It is listed as Antique c1920-1930 Large Bristol Blue Glass Pitcher Jug, would have sent you a link but not quite sure how to do that yet. I did have a look at the listing but could not make out where I would find the link. I do not know if you have to ask for UK e-bay or if you will see it without doing so! I think that yours could be much older than mine, but can only guess at that!

No, I didn't look on ebay. I have to admit that's usually the last place I check. *L* But I'll see what I can find going by your title of the listing. For the most part, if you find a link to a page you'd like to share, you can copy the link from the page address in your browser window and just paste it in your comment. Barring that, you can give the item number so it can be looked up. Is this the one you mentioned that you found on ebay?

It certainly looks like yours! You might ask them if they would post a picture of the bottom. Worst case is they won't post one. *L*

Yes, that is the one! I think it is identical to mine, it just depends now on does the seller know what he is talking about!! If so, then it is a Large Bristol Blue Pitcher Jug! If not, then we will have to keep looking. Many thanks for your help with the link thing. I have just thanked your hubby for his comment on my kitchen cupboard!! I like to see where folk are from and read his likes etc and there he mentions his wife 'Chinablue'. How lovely of him!!
