This toy ship was the "butt of a family joke". My family lives far away from each other. Whenever any of us would visit, we'd purposely leave this toy ship in a place that the host house would not discover until after we left. The game was to try to stop the person from leaving this ugly toy at their house (if one could catch them trying to leave it). This was a lot of fun for a while. But as I have been looking at this toy, I noticed that it seems very old. I don't see any plastic pieces. The only text on it says, "NINA". So I imagine it was part of a set of three. The more I look at it, the more I wish I could discover the toy's history. If anyone has suggestions on basic ways I can identify this toy ship, I'd love to get advice. Please send this picture to anyone that could help me identify it.

    Thanks so much!

I could think that Nina refers to one of the three ships or caravels which Columbus came to America: Niña or Nina (girl), Pinta, and Saint Mary.
