This plate is known as the floral. It is perfect, in its box yet.
Actually, the box says O'Brien Flowers and Gifts 6921 West 130th St Cleveland, OH, and I could't find any reference to this store.
The cristal plate measures 10 inches diameter, and have a metallic base.
Plate has a gold sticker with the legend Chance Glass A member of the PILKIMGTON Group. Made in England, and the base is golden an says: James Clarke and sons LTD Strike-on-Trent England.
    Before 1981

One of my brothers lives near th t address. It is just a nice middle class neighborhood. Tried google street view but it was giving me trouble on the iPad.

What I like about this design is its reference to Australia. I could swear the flowers and leaves are red-flowering gum. Floral was produced between 1961-1981. Chance glass is ubiquitous in Australia. Swirl is now beginning to be collected by the youngsters! There are other Chance designs by famous designers Michael Harris (of Pre-Mdina Maltese glass and later Isle of Wight fame) and Margaret Casson (Night Sky).
Thanks for getting me to go back to this Chance site. I have just found out the information about some mystery utility bowls that I have at home here. It seems they date to 1931 and were designed by Robert Gooden.

I think your serving plate is called 'Calypto' and was designed by Michael Harris.' It dates from the late fifties. He later got involved with the new wave studio glass movement in 1967 and moved to Malta.

It's a new collecting area. Mind you these cake stands are really popular items these days too. A great way to display a selection of cupcakes! World-wide phenomenon!
