I may have this completely mis-identified, so if I do, please correct me :) I BELIEVE it to be hand painted in that i can't see the tale-tale dots in the flower print, but I could certainly be wrong. Also, there is a signature and a number on the back in bronze colored paint, complete with the painters handprint and partial thumbprint.. So that also makes me assume that it's hand painted. It seems like the marking says LS&S Carlsbad. Not sure the age, but it was my grandmother's. It hangs in my kitchen.
Most beautiful and dainty!! I do not have great resolution on my laptop, so I cannot tell whether or not this is a transfer print, or is hand painted, or a combination of both. How large is this? If you've been using it for a platter, I'm sure it is one. I have never seen a platter quite like this one. It is so dainty that it reminds me of a lady's dresser tray. I am not familiar with LS&S Carlsbad, so I could not say whether or not the hand written signature indicates that this has been hand painted.
It's really hard to tell! Mom thought it might even be a blank that had been sold by LS&S Carlsbad, and then painted or transferred by someone later on. My great aunt would do that, and did lovely work!
Hi, nsvmom! So good to see that you are well and that you rode the storm out safely! Haven't played on CW in the last two days, I think. Please pardon me for just now hailing your reappearance post-Sandy. You are very fortunate to have such a talented aunt, and to have such treasures in your family. So beautiful!
