I'm not sure of what this is made of possible Jade thick gold paint trimming pictures are showing the same as I received it some kind of substance some of it flakes of but have not attempted to wash it there are no markings other than 2 different designs around the neck with elephant heads on either side I can not tell you an age but would love to find someone that could tell me everything I need to know about this it appears to look older to me but looks can be decieving
This is not glass Still looking for anyone that can help me identify what it could be Thank you
my opinion for what its worth
possibly marble or could be jade but the pictures are hard to see...is it heavy in proportion to its size or really really light...? you can't possibly say its not Jade by the photos alone...it looks more Jade or marble than porcelain or glass...
that dirt, is it erosion on the inside is that through to the vase material?
a lot of 19th and 20th century fakers place dirt on Chinese "type" pots to make them look like they've just come out of the ground...the dead give away is the gold is really really shiny, you would expect to see that tarnished
any marks on the base?
its very pretty no matter what it is, do you mind saying how you came upon it in such condition?
It is extremely cold it is vary heavy it translucent it has to be some kind of mineral defiantly not marble I took my Diamond tester and touched the gold part an it gave me a reading of diamond I thought that was vary odd
Well I'm out then with suggestions, sorry I was unable to help, defiantly or not...
