I remember it being in my grandmother's house 30 years ago. My mother inherited it. Grandmother told me that it was French Cut Glass, not to sell it because it was valuable... it is about 30" tall, round base is about 14" wide, and the pale green glass is really shiny. The brown leaves are raised and thick with gold painted accents, on the rim too. I love it. Just need to know what kind of vase it actually is. I cannot see a mark on the bottom. Daum? Galle??? Thank you.
Baccarat? There would be a round mark. Val St Lambert? But that's northerly Belgium? Harrach and Moser did similar work too.
Thanks vetraio5o for your response. I looked again and I do not see a round mark, you gave me some good names as I am new at this.
Baccarat wouldn't necessarily have a round mark. I've had a few baccarat cameo pieces and no marks were present. with the quality of the photo it's darned hard to see what we're looking at exactly. I don't think this is moser but the other suggestions all sound good. (but not Daum or Galle) what does the background look like? is there a pattern in the glass? what does the base look like and the rim? ideal would be a pic with out glare from a flash, in natural light. a pic of the decoration, a pic of hte rim and a pic of the base. two different views of the decoration would be good. the photo should be focused enough to see the actual detail. what does the base glass actually look like.
