What's with the large beer bottle, seems to be a studio image.
Could be a Triumph, I'm sure someone more knowledgable than me can can determine this.
Are any of the other women relatives, the woman on the bike & the one in the sidecar look similar to your mother?

      Great image!

you are right it is a studio image, the woman in the photo all work with my mother at the I C I factory near Manchester the one the Germans were trying to bomb during the war.as for the large bottle of beer it must have been a girls night out.

What a great old photo! I was looking at the motorcycle and wondered if this was taken in Europe or Great Britain since the sidecar is on the left of the driver. If we know that, then we'll know which side the stick shift is really on and that would help in ID'ing the motorcycle. US made motorcyle *should* have the sidecar on the other side from what is shown in this photograph. I tried to read what was on the front fender and it looks as if the negative was reversed. If you can clarify that, someone might be able to better help you ID it! :-)

I'm going with an Indian, the girder front end and down sweep handle bars, lead me to think this. The sidecar appears to be a "Gould". Again these are just guesses, but back during this time frame, Hacks could be mounted on either side.
