This watch is probably a companion piece to the Ingersoll (tonneau case & rectangular dial) Snow White watch of 1947 as they both share the same dial graphics.

Although the watch is housed in a 1949 US Time case, the movement is much smaller than the 'standard' movement used in all the 48/49 Birthday Series watches (the Birthday Series watches use the same watch case). Hence, a 'filler' metal ring has been fitted on purpose to the internal case back in order to accommodate the smaller size movement (Picture 3).

I have not seen this watch in any books or advertising materials before and any further information will be very much appreciated.

Note : Photo updated with the correct 1948 fluted case.

George, every thing is almost correct on this. It is a 1948, the tonneau case one was part of a set of four. Out of that set only the Snow White was produced in the round version. The slot fluted case for 1948 would make this complete. The smaller movement is also correct. US Time made several watch this way, I have several, a 47 round Mickey with smooth case, 50 Hop-a-long and several 49-50's. Great find, these are a 1 year(1948) only piece. Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks very much Kerry. I have a spare 48 case front that fits perfectly to this watch. As the movement is not signed, I was a little worried! Cheers!

Kerry, will let you know as soon as I spot another one of this. I have since updated the watch with the correct 1948 case (see pic above).

I am desperately hunting for a 1949 dial (Birthday Series) Daisy Duck. Please let me know if you come across one in any condition. Cheers!

Will do George, eyes open and on the watch for one. And yes to the Pluto, doesn't work, broken anchor forks, when you wind it it runs 5000% fast, lol
