OK , I need your help.

My thirteen year old grandson is really interested in developing his picking skills and got these at a garage sale.

They were purchased from the son of the lady who bought them when she and her husband were stationed in Japan in 1958.

A quick search tells me that Hakata is a region and Raku Yaki seems to be the style of pottery.

The fellow we got these from said his mother wrote where and when she got things so it is easy to date when it was purchased. I think she miss-spelled the town though as all the spelling I have found show it as Fukuoka, not Fukuoaka, Japan.

Any more history on these little wall hangers?
