    This little 7.5 inch gondola came from my mother's estate. It was made in Germany and has an irridescent glaze. I'm fascinated with it but have no idea what it is intended for.

      This piece would have had a glass hurricane lamp type of insert that went inside the middle of the white collar. It is an oil lamp. The depression part on the one side was sometimes used for holding potpourri or scented oils on top, then when the lamp was lit, it gave off light AND scent. Hope this helps.
