A hand painted oil on wood Icon , a wonderful interpretation of this holy scene! The painting colors are so bright and well done, most of these are in print form , I was pleasantly surprised to find one that was actually painted at a yard sale!
The 'original' icon is in Poland. It is called the "Black Madonna" icon, "The Black Madonna of Czestochowa", or the icon of "Our Lady of Czestochowa". Here's a link to an article on the icon.
