Hello All, This is a very old wax doll. I don't know her age, but would like to! She seems to be well made, as she has held up well after all this time.
Her face is covered in a gauze type of cloth over wax. Her gorgeous eyes appear to be glass. The rest of her is cloth. Her clothes were well made but have aged tremendously. She has been in my family for ages. Can any of you doll experts tell me anything about her? Thanks!

Hello, wolcott1! She's a very beautiful doll! I have been busy all day, and thought that I'd just pop in - without signing in - and take a very quick look at what's new, and then just pop off CW. Then I saw this beauty, and had to sign in. I love her eyes - they are sublime! And her attire is lovely. Manikin is our doll authority. Hopefully she see this soon. Hi, wolcott1! Received word today that Manikin has been away for several days, and it might be a little stretch before she returns to CW. When she does, she'll be checking for the new dolls, as she always does, and will find this one very exciting! Until then....miKKo : )

Hi just came on today for a minute all . Not back yet but had to help on this RARE doll very very hard to find . It is a "London Baby Rag Doll" . It dates from 1860's to 1880's . Cloth gauze over wax mask face with glass eyes . The back of head is soft so the face is called a mask face
You will likely never see another as they are that rare nor will you be able to see a photo of one if you google it .Beautiful and very s[ecial . Love love her !!!!

Hi Mani!!! Thank you soooo much for your input. Mikko was right you came through for me. I had no idea about her. I had only heard through my Mom that she was very old. Mani your a treasure. Your welcome wolcott :-) keep her out of sunlight and any critters . She truly is museum quality and we would not touch clothes with bare hands as oil in hands can cause material to deteriorate we wear white cloth gloves. Today I googled her name and someone on a site is selling what they are calling a London Baby Rag doll but it is not one :-) I will try and find photo of her in one of my books when I can be up and about
