This chair (actually a set of two) is almost identical to the chair (4) that I just posted. However, this, as you can see, has a double-padded seat. The seat is also wider to fit the hosts of a dinner party, I suppose.

Again I know nothing about this, so if you, please let me know!

Silver with touches of gold. What could be better!

      That's a fauteil.

"One of the most common styles is the 'fauteil,' an upholstered armchair with open sides that came into popularity under the reign of Louis XIV, the 17th-century 'Sun King.' The chair is still a mainstay of French furnishing. Eventually, upholstered pads were added to the top of the fauteil armrests for even greater comfort."

Based on the shape of the back and the cabriole legs, I'm going to put my money on Louis XV style, Victorian revival.
