The yank in this image is identified (front and back) as "Bob Tyson".
I'd sure like to know who his English friend was! Based on the size of the doughboy, I would think that the Brit was approaching 7 feet.
Anyone with familiarity on tall English soldiers, feel free to contribute.
The postcard is French and dates from just after WW1.

I wish I could tell the regiment from the photo. Grenadier Guardsman Harry Barter at nearly 7 feet tall got some fame for purportedly being the tallest man in the British Army during WWI. He was wounded and later served in a non-combat unit. I haven’t seen a picture of him, but it might be worth researching to see if this is the famous Harry Barter.
Shortest-Tallest photos seem to have been popular during WWI, but usually two people from the same regiment. I'll bet that Bob was as below average height as his British friend was above it.
