    I don't know much about these. They are about 14" and 12" respectively. They appear to be paper mache. My grandparents had them for years and they have always intrigued me. There are no markings.

      I have one of these things as well. I also happen to see them at the goodwill and salvation army all the time. Your from MN right? I wounder if maybe they are some kind of school projects that some or all schools here in MN had as part of lesson plans. Were your grandparents from here? Happy hunting!

      Yeah I am from here, my grandparents too. I'll have to ask my dad again. It's funny, when I took them down and looked at them up close, they almost seemed to have action figure heads...ha!

      They look like souvenir dolls dressed in traditional clothing- from Asia maybe due to the costumes, but then the dolls themselves don't look Asian so who knows.... They seem quite stained- maybe 50s-70s?
