I found this at a garage sale and paid $15 for it. I thought it was cool but I'm scared to see if it works, I had a fire scare with another vintage lamp so now I wont use any without a new cord. The shade has some chips around the edges but it was the dolphins that hold the shade that I thought was cool. The shade will only fit a certain way and the base is solid marble (I think) with just a small hole for the cord. Any info on this lamp would be great. Thanks and happy hunting!
Great looking lamp! It's easy enough to replace both the socket and cord. Here's a link to a YouTube video, if you don't know how to do it:

It's sure worth your time and money to repair it, not to mention the safety aspect.
Of course, this same info applies to your other vintage lamp. I don't think that replacing the wiring should affect the value ... only improves it.
Thanks I have so many lamps that need the cord replaced I've started to run out of places to put them all in fact I have at least 10 stored at my mothers LOL! I think I will replace the cord on the dolphin lamp and keep it but the Miller is going on Ebay. I dont have a shade for it and I have seen them go for a decent price figure what ever it goes for I will split with my co-worker who gave it to me.Thanks for comments and happy hunting!
