A co-worker gave me this lamp. He said that his father in-law gave it to him and his wife. She said she remembers it being in her grandparents home but it had a glass shade that got broke. It has Hubbard sockets if thats what you would call them and is also marked Miller lamps. At first I thought it was a Handel because of the acorn pulls but those are also signed Miller lamps. He told that it works but I wont plug it in. I have bad luck with vintage lamps. Anyone think its worth listing on Ebay? Or any other info would be great thanks and happy hunting!
I love old lamps, go ahead and plug it in, aren't you curious if it works. I think you have a nice find there. Do you think they married some of pieces together.
I sold the lamp on Ebay. It sold for $255.00 buyer received it and was happy. I love old anything thats why my co-worker gave it to me. I wanted to keep it but I dont have a glass shade and all the vintage shades that I do have took away from how nice the lamp is. I figured the lamp should go to some one who could give it a better life then I. I gave the money to my co-worker who was stunned and did not want to take it but I am a firm believer in Karma and how it comes around. Happy hunting!
Your so right, what goes around comes around, you will be blessed for that act of kindness.
I love old lamps, and The Miller Lamp Co was in Meriden, CT. My "uncle" used to work there. Meriden also was home to Bradley & Hubbard...another great lamp company. I love your karma theory. Kind of like the money we gave back out of desk we bought. There was $1800+ in cash stashed in a drawer.
