    Hi,

I have Two Tom & Jerry Cups in Great condition, one has the word
Czechoslovakia on the bottom and that one is number 3. The other I
took a photo of what is written on the bottom, it has a picture of a Lion and the words El. Bugen and then something else is written underneath that. I would like to know something about these. What year they were made, if you could connect me to a web site to read something about these, and how much they are worth, I'd really appreciate it. By the way,
I'm not to computer savvy, if someone was going to post this, which categories would they put them in?

    Thanks ~You very much

      T hank's AR8Jason,

I really appreciate the tip on the Tom & Jerry Mugs, & you're right,
I thought they had to do with the cartoon character's also. What is your passion
in the Collector's Weekly Site. I have many different original, antique item's
that I don't know much about.

      Hi Lisa!
I recently inherited a collection of these Tom and Jerry mugs. I did some research on their history and here is what I found...
"Tom and Jerry" is a 19th century Christmastime cocktail made with sugar, eggs, brandy and vanilla. Tom Thomas was a very famous bartender of his time and choice to share his recipe, not something popular during that era. This move helped start the trend of entertaining in the home.
      Here is my reference: https://blog.etsy.com/en/2012/tom-and-jerry-holiday-drink/
      Hope this helps!

      Hi Sarahsgrandaughter,
I appreciate your comment about the Tom & Jerry cups more than you know. Not really even about the cups, My old computer crashed a few years ago and I purchased a new one and for the "LIFE OF ME" I could Not remember the name of this site and could Not FIND IT. I spent Hours & Hours just trying to get back to this site. So, when you commented today that was the only way I was able to return to this site. THANK- YOU!! Happy 4th of July.
By the way, in your research were you able to find out if these are worth anything? It seems like you recently lost your Grandmother, I'm very sorry about your loss I should know, I lost my Grandmother and both my parent's within 1-1/2 years. I have one sibling and I believe he took most All of the valuables, but I do have a few items I'm trying to look into. I also am a Estate/Garage sale junky always looking for antique item's. Maybe we could help each other find information about old, hard to find items.
      Thanks Again,

      Hi Lisa!
Have you taken an inventory of the items you inherited? Also have you gotten an appraisal on the items? I have someone coming in on Sunday to take a look at everything. It seems like a daunting task trying to decide what to keep and not to. Am I going to use a set of china in 10, 20 years? I don't know! I have found some very interesting history in a couple of the pieces though. That has been a lot of fun. I think its also helping the grieving process and getting closure on my grandmothers passing. She passed away 4 years ago but with complications over the past years I just recently inherited the items. Have you find this site to be useful in researching the items you inherited. Thank you very much for your response. I am glad I am not the only one in this circumstance. Take care.
