So, I got this bracelet from my grandmother a few years back and at the time I didn't really appreciate it because I was too young. I just came across it again thought it was extremely detailed and beautiful and wanted to figure out what time period it is from. She is incapable of telling me much about it. So, I would appreciate any input about this bracelet.
Thank you very much.
Some of the designs look Egyptian-ish. Any word markings on the bracelet?
Yes, I love this piece, definitely has to have some history. Hope you find something out. Did you post anywhere else? Yes, Egyptian or perhaps Native American, Mayan?
Definitely Egyptian. There seems to be markings on the lower part of the panels. Can you read them? It is sylistically similar to ones that I have seen dating from 1910-20. However, I have also seen similarly styled bracelets that were produced in the 1970s. My spidey sense says that it may be one of those but, it is difficult to know without more information.
My mother was sent a bracelet like this one from her brother who was serving in Egypt during the second world war and he sent her a bracelet such as this one except it was with butterflies on it and a brooch to match so I would presume to think it came from Egypt too as it has the same fine detail wire scrolling that was on my mother's. That was circa 1942- 1944 or there abouts as he was in the "Desert Campaign" and when that was finished he was then sent to the Kokoda Trail in New Guinea and finally back home to Australia.
P.S.
The soldiers sent these items to the loved ones back home as souveniers to remember them by.
My Uncle sent these to his sister.
Silver filigree, probably .800
