There is a history behind this set. My mother bought most of the set back in the early 1970's and Now I have them. I also have most of a set of the same kind. almost enough to have 2 eight place settings. A few items still to be added.

Johnson Brother's was hired by HMS Queen Elizabeth to create this set of dishes. Each dish comes with it's own marking to show the authenticity of the peace. looking on the back most are in red or green that I have seen. Just a mark in the finish that is dots or angles to show up when fired the second time. All items are very well identified with the label and marking of Queen Elizabeth.

I love the fact you don`t prof read. What a cute goof: "authenticity of the peace". I hate the fact that I had never until today seen the covered vegetable bowl or the teapot. The former is over $200, the latter over $400. I`ve been collecting this pattern for 46 years and am aghast to have missed them. In 4 decades, how on earth could they not have surfaced? Please don`t answer. I`m too depressed to be lectured on the inadequacy of my skills. At any rate, every other piece (sp) is safely ensconced in a cabinet bought specifically for them, save the cheese board, letter box and clock which are where they receive their daily use. I would love to have my kitchen tiled in the pattern. I was looking to see if wall tiles ight have begun to be made when this site presented itself. Nice to meet you all and be given the "love" option. I truly do love this pattern.

Can anyone tell me what year this set? I have my mother's set and thought she had them in the late 1960s.
Thanks for any info you have!
