    This is a large and VERY heavy resin [? some kind of very hard and rock-like plastic] rondel. i'm not sure how old or even where it's from, but it looks Japanese or possibly Chinese. any ideas?

      that's a good guess jewendell222. i wondered that myself. the piece is 18" across and 2.5" thick.
