Posted in response to BHock45's post of the Meriden Britannia Co. serving spoon. This set looks like they were inspired by the spoon in his posting. They are both 21" long, made of aluminum, and marked DDC on the back. Someone at a flea market didn't want to bring any no sale items home so they were free along with a full set of porcelain antique style hot and cold faucet handle shower curtain hooks, they are cool too.
Hi. Very interesting. I took a quick look around and didn't find this hallmark. I was surprised however to find a gazillion of these vintage 'faux antique' spoon and fork wall hangings described as "Mid Century Modern". Yes, this is an old form reproduced for decorative use. I do note that the shoulders aren't quite the same as those on BHock45's spoon, and also, the tip design on his spoon appears on the back and not the front of the spoon (I think.). Very interesting posting. Thank you! : )

Thanks miKKoChristmas11, to be honest when I first grabbed them from the free pile I did it because they were aluminum and for the scrap pile. When I arrived home I changed my mind to keep them, I have a colorful 3' Sexton cast iron rooster in the kitchen and may have to start a collection? I also have vintage kitchen utensils hanging, bottle capper, folley food mill, tin cookie cutters etc. etc.
Thank you again miKKo, have a great day!
Hi, MattyG! You're most welcome, sir. Sounds like you are quite a collector. Your home must be fascinating. Best wishes, miKKo
mikkochristmas11, the tip design is on the front of my spoon, sorry I forgot to tell you. MattyG, have you posted your bottle capper? I too have one completely restored, I will post it tonight if you are interested in looking at it. Later guys.
