    Hi there if possiable would some one please be able to help me to find out anything about my GREATLY LOVED PIECE i am showing here, it was inherrieted to me from my mother who had it inherrieted to her from her mother who had it inherrited to her by her mother, and that is all i know about it, i would really love to know the age and where it was made only coz i have tried to find out and none of my friends or i have been able to find anything out and not for the lack of trying, I have done Approxament messurements on it and the bowl is approx on its own with no lid 2&3quater inch high and with lid on it is approx 5 inch high and the bowl is approx 2&1/2 inch deep, and bowl is approx from handle to handle 7 & 1/2 inch long, and the bowl on the out side round is approx 19 ? inch round, and it is from one side to the other wide approx 5 inch, THE lid is approx 6 & 1 quater inch long and 4 & 1 quater inch wide, And the plat to this set is Approx 5 and 3 quater inch wide and the plat is approx 8 inch long,. and it has the indent stamp looking thing on the bottom saying...... REAL IRONSTONE CHINA and the red stamp writting says ... ETON IRONSTONE J.M & S . If ANY ONE is able to help me find out more about my very loved and treasured set it would be very appreciated. with thanks from kazlea :-)

      Sorry I can't tell much about the pattern from the photo, but I can see enough to know it's quite pretty. I'm not that well versed in ironstone, but I know of 2 companies that used the "J M & S" on ironstone. One was Job Meigh & Son at the Old Hall Pottery, Hanley and the other John Meir & Son of Tunstall, Staffordshire, England. From looking at the mark, I'm inclined to think that perhaps "Eton" is the pattern name. I know that's not much, but perhaps if you check for these names, you may find marks that match yours. Good luck to you, and if I should find any information, I'll certainly let you know. :-)
