Great collection. Victorians produced many wonderful pieces of mourning jewelry. There are historians that argue that there was an identifiable Western Culture of Mourning, and that it can be thought to actually have defined late Victorian decades. I have written about the Victorian culture of mourning, but so have other historians — in Canada, the US, and Britain. I encourage you to read some of the amazing work out there. :)
