There is also a sticker on glass that says sears, roebuck & co do not know if it is part of original item but looks like it was originally on jar,

Foul! Robin, you beat me to it only because I was a work. Ok, what is the significance of the A. Lincoln Hotel? Is there some supposedly common knowledge that I have missed? Did people travel across the country to get their shoes shined there?
