When the new neighbors moved in they cleaned out the garage and one day I saw this bed in a pile by the curb. So I brought it home and put it together. I had to figure out how the connectors worked but here it is now together again, a very solid piece of furniture. Seems to be Oak with a reddish finish that I associate with Mission furniture.
I searched for a makers mark but found nothing. I'm hoping someone will see this post and will be able to provide more information on the maker etc.
The mattress support slats measure 1 and 1/8 inches by 5/8 of an inch and fit hand cut notches along the side rails. The side rails measure 1 and 1/8 inches by 5 and 15/16 inches. The headboard the footboard each have base that curves at the legs and accent trim the top. The vertical pieces for the head and footboard attach at the base and top and appear to be mortise and tenon.
These vertical slats (30 individual slats for each board or 60 total pieces) measure 15/16 inches wide by 5/8 inches deep. The headboard is 51 and 1/2 inches tall by 67 and 3/4 inches wide. The footboard measures 35 and 1/2 inches tall by 67 and 3/4 inches wide. The legs measure 2 and 3/8 inches by 2 and 9/16 inches. Overall the bed is apx. 83 inches long with an inside measurement of apx. 62 inches.
I would be happy to provide more photos and measurements if needed, really hoping someone can identify this one.
