This is an antique rose gold tiger claw/nail brooch. The gold is marked with a Dutch leaf (see photo) which means 14K gold. From upper-left corner to bottom point is about 4 cm
This brooch I haven't because I think it's beautiful but these kind of jewelry belongs in a collection of antique jewelry in my opinion. Fortunately, the hunting of tigers today prohibited.
Certainly our remote ancestors made use of animal claws in their jewelry, but not too many examples have been prominent in Western culture in the last couple of centuries--particularly not in settings of high karat gold. A notable exception to this is "tiger claw" jewelry seen sometimes in the antique market and hotly pursued by collectors. During the British colonial period in India, the wild tigers which are, so rightly, strictly protected in today's world, were seen as vermin or a particularly threatening child. The "Sahibs" tiger hunts were, at least to read British-authored historical accounts, much encouraged and appreciated by the native population Jewelers set the claws in brooches, pendants and earrings.
Have you any idea of dating of this brooch??

If you are intested in 12 very beautiful and interesting photos of historical jewels please read my article of my visit to the Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim in Germany on link:
