Does anyone know what this blanket like item is called? I found it while cleaning out an apartment in New York City for my brother in 1996. Turns out the man died and his family came went through everything he had, took what they wanted, and left the place turned upside down.I found a newspaper article on the man who live there. At one time, he had the largest collection of ancient chinese tomb pottery,he was a commerical artist, and was in a plane crash and only broke his arm.He also worked for a newspaper. There is so much more to tell about this man.I have some more items I will be showing and telling, Thanks !

I came here today trying to find anything similar to a linen tapestry I had found. Yours has finally given me answers to mine. I was told by a Doctor from Eygpt that it was either Persian or from Iran. So, I am at least one step closer to solving some of the mystery. I had wondered what purpose they would've been used for. Hope to hear more on this one!
