The debate might continue here but oh well...The original decoration is typically credited to Koloman Moser and Loetz. But what we have here is a Kralik vase with a great shape. It is softly iridescent. The body has several indentations on its side that serves up some interest. The stripes and spots are randomly placed and are similar in many ways to the Loetz version but the base glass is more translucent. Measuring 7.5" tall by 5.75" wide, it has significant presence. Hopefully the viewers can enjoy the piece for itself and not argue over attribution as in the past.
Great piece Tony. This one is definitely more translucent then the others I have seen, and the spots aren't quite as iridescent, so this is a new variation to me. Quite beautiful in its subtlety; instead of "in your face" as the shinier ones can be. Both are great in their own way, but this one really has a more refined appeal. Love it!
you are right about kralik, i have seen a few now in typical kralik shapes
VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
