I love old tools....I know nothing about old tools...but I love to hold and look at them. I found this one at the local junker. It was really great because I came across a huge box of old plumber's tools and equiptment. This was only one of them...I may go back and look for some more. So I ask...

What should I look for? and, is this a monkey wrench? It is only about 8 inches long, still works perfectly. No marks except:

    "GUARANTEED
    ____ STEEL
    USA"

    Thanks!

Hey mustangtony, and Hems303. Thanks for the info. There is something perfect about the way the tool pivots to clap at a perfect angle. It is a little hard to explain unless you have held this tool before. Which I am sure you have. I see no marks on this tool....like a makers mark or brand/manufacturer name. Is that typical? Also, as I mentioned in the narrative above, there was a whole box of old tools that must have belonged to this plumber. Including a wrench with a long...very long taping handle which formed a sharp point. Perhaps for unclogging pipes? I am going to check out this box again tomorrow. THanks!
