I bought this at Goodwill for $7.95. And it was pretty dirty, I washed with soap and water, now looks 100% better, I do not know what it is made of, maybe low 720 or 800 silver? or? and red rock or stone? It seems to be at least a little old? Enameled also? I do not know how to open either, I tried pushing pin down and they are stuck, maybe a lady put on and did not take off? It weighs 45.4 grams. Thanks for help, I do not think it is funky costume type jewelry. Thanks to Collector's Weekly I can learn and identify objects! I FINALLY GOT THE PIN OUT BY USING A WINE CORKSCREW!! see new photo!

hi toracat -- here's my guess -- the stones are perhaps carnelian and the metal -- based on pic2 and the green spot that i see on the top right side of the bracelet leads me to the conclusion it is probably brass -- what color was your rag after you washed it -- gray/black (silver) or blue/green (copper/brass) -- if brass my next guess on origin would be India or in that area -- now i have a question for you -- are there hinges of the same type on both sides of the bracelet -- i am going to guess the pin or pins are bent -- with patience and a crochet hook or small knitting needle -- you should be able to push one of the pins out -- try some 24D -- once the pin is out straighten it or replace it and -- viola -- you should have a working hinge again --
well that's my story and i'm sticken to it -- lovely piece by the way

Yes hinges are same on both sides!

well get that needle and 24D out kid and start prying -- careful careful careful -- patience is a virtue -- eventually the stubborn ole pin with let you win

I tried for 30 minutes with tiny nail and safety pin, it is stuck!

You may want to try very narrow tweezers to pull out the pin. A pin would often have an "eye" for a ring to connect to a chain, so I'd suggest "fishing" with a thin crochet hook (unless the top of the pin has broken off).

I will ask some of my friends if they have a crochet hook, I do not see an eye, maybe it has broken off? also would each side open? or just one side?

probably one side is the hinge the other side more than likely had a piece that protruded that slid up and down and served as the clamp to open the bracelet and that is the side i would start with

      ok I will start there!

Thanks to epson and davyd I got the pin out! Yes fishing with a sharp curved end of wine corkscrew got it out a tiny bit, than small pliers got it! pin is shot now though. It was really stuck! I appreciate the help!

I cleaned it! there appears to be three layers of metal, I think I know what they are but I won't say as I am not sure! I cleaned with soap and water and soft brush!

Whatcha have here is Moroccan. The one I had was silver, not sure if it was high or low, but deffinitely silver. Does this one look like it? Its hard to tell when the white balance is off in the photo.

Don't know what that stone is, but its not a carnelian as someone said above.

good job!!!!!! -- that bracelet is looking better and better -- just needed a little of your tender loving care -- no one will bite -- tell us what you think the three metal layers might be -- we might all learn something -- enjoy your day

hi toracat -- been sitting here thinking some more about your bracelet -- what are you going to use for the new pin -- just a suggestion -- i typically use a hat pin when these types of hinges go south on me -- i have several if you don't have any and would send you one if i had your address -- my email is
