I have the clear Astglas with gold twig handles decoration that I posted earlier. So I decided I will try to get the other Astglas colors : orange, blue and green. Two down and two to go.

I was your underbidder. Nice piece. I am trying to find a more interesting shape than my boring bowl in Astglas.
David : I just came upon this by accident. Nouveau was spelled wrong.
Nice - I used to have this shape in Rusticana (I believe I sold it some time ago)
bohemianglassandmore : I my opinion Astglas is really Rusticana with crackle.
I agree that Astglass looks like a crackled Rusticana. I think finding a blue one would be very exciting. I have only seen a photo of one of these. The 3 colors of Astglass are candia, orange and heliotrope (blue). Although the silvery clear ones with the gold branches look like Astglass, Loetz did not identify them as such. The shape of your vase is II-740 and it is one of my favorite shapes. I think it would also be fun to collect the different decors that were made in this shape.
LoetzDance : if you look at my "Clear Astglas" listing the third photo is the same decor on a piece sold at Dr. Fischer Auction and they also call it Astglas. BUT I must admit this Loetz thing is tricky. I'm so used to American art glass that is so easy to identify.
We just got a very nice Astglas vase (I think it is Astglas, it looks just like this one) As soon as I upload the picture here I will let you know :)
To follow on from your question KS 85, is there a place for questions like this?
I would be very interested in being able to do some show and ask as well as show and tell. Is there room for that in this forum?
Thank you.
Lisa
ks85 : for American art glass......a good general book is AMERICAN ART GLASS by Shuman. I also have books on individual makers ( too many to mention ). BUT as time goes on it's experience you rely on and you forget about the books.
