This vanity was purchased 50 years ago in a second hand store in western Pennsylvania. It was painted at the time but then refinished to reveal the beautiful wood. It has lots of carved details, and the woods are curly maple, walnut and oak, the mirror is decoratively etched. I'd love to learn the manufacturer and possible age.

Painted?!! Beautiful piece this. There was a renowned make recently posted & this could be 1 of their works. I'll see if I can find it.

I know, the wood is quite beautiful. I'd really appreciate any information. Thanks!

I've just searched my files twice & can't find it. About 2-2 1/2 mos ago. That piece had won an award in the (Chicago World's Fair?) & the Co. was in NY I think around the turn of the century. I make/made custom pieces & was really impressed with the piece. The owners were decendents & referred to the makers name as S-something but that wasn't the name of the company but a Last name was something like Weinburger but that's not it. It was a factory if that helps. This just has the "feel" to me of being maybe made by them. If so, that will increase the value a lot. Others who follow furniture will be able to help. Sorry I can't right now but will keep looking.

Thanks for that much. Again, if you figure it out let me know. I will take this info to a local antique store and get them digging too. I also have the full sized bed that matches. There don't seem to be any identifying factory names/labels on it.
