Hi,
I think this is silver plate?
Need some help to figure out Why this Water pitcher given to our Great Great Grandma In 1877 135 years ago Has two hallmarks on the bottom of the tippler stand? Anyone recognize the hallmark with the G a fly in the middle, a sunrise on the bottom and an Eye above?
It weighs 15 Lbs all together and stands 20 inches high, with the pitcher int he stand the bottom of the water pitcher has the J A stimpson Hallmark.
I have never seen one this huge, Anyone else? Thanks Jeff
Stand is 16 inches high and 18 long 10 inches wide at widest.
Water pitcher is 14 3/4 High by itself when taken out of the stand
Handle is 7 1/2 inches L, opening of Pitcher is 6 1/8" across,
circumference of pitcher is 20" at the skinniest place.
12" inches from the end of pitcher spout to end of handle.
The inside of the lined pitcher is 9"high. 14" circumference.
The fly in the G looks familiar but can't place it.
That "G" symbol looks Masonic to me.
So does the eye.
OH NO, I found a bunch of Masonic pins, secret ritual books, and a hat.. Grandpa was a secret Mason.. We always thought he was going to the VFW.. Glad Grandma ain't around to see this.. Wonder why that symbol is on the bottom of the gift given in 1877? Another mystery to solve..
That's pretty funny froggymorton. Next thing you know you'll be at the vatican looking for clues.
“The Letter “G”, the Grand Architect of the Universe! , but also denotes the science of Geometry! ,

And while doing a little research what did I find out ... The Obama's are Masons ... ... http://www.disclose.tv/forum/obama-s-masonic-ring-and-handshake-t27047.html (that was news to me ... you don't know what you don't know lol)
Long story short I'm all the above on the 'masonic" idea
Thanks everyone, I am so wondering why he put that underneath the Water pitcher, It appears to be welded or soldered on.. Oh well, maybe it will sell better..
Jeff
According to my research, it's really not so bad. Tolerance, equality, charity, some goofy plays ... :)
