I say ladies because the face is similar to other ladies watches I've seen, but there is a stag in the woods on the back. It is not "hunter" style, meaning there is no cover to open and close to see the face. In all my searching, I have only seen one other watch with this face, but it didn't have ENWC spelled out, and the back was more lady like florals.

Beautiful dial. If you can, add a picture of the movement & serial number. This will tell the exact size and year it was made etc.

to thisoldwatch, I don't know how to open it and I have not taken it to a jeweler. I am really interested in seeing the inside myself, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to open it and I don't want to scratch it. It will be interesting to see the serial # and movement. Don't really have a trusted jeweler, so need to scout that out.

Vetraio50, yes the eyes are intense! Wary? Sad?

      Hi Jane,
I don't see any hinges so it is possibly a screw on/off cover. Hold it in the palm of your hand dial down and twist the back cover counter clockwise. You may have to use one of those rubber kitchen aids or simply blow on your hand to help loosen the back. Good luck, its not that hard.

To: thisoldwatch: Great advice. Got it open and posted the movement picture. I'm thinking by the serial # it was made in 1893?
