My father passed this watch on to me. I am not sure of much of the history, but someone along the way used this while working on a railroad.
It has 'Springfield' on the front. The glass has virtually no scratched, and when compared to the back, does not show much wear.
Inside the back, the movement says 'Bunn Special Sprinfield Ill'. it is numbered 2453051 and has 21 Ruby Jewels. It is 'Adjusted Temperature 6 positions ISOCHRONISM' It also has text stating it is a 'double roiler'.
On the inside back cover, it says 'Fahys Montauk 687456'. there is something else that was written below the Fahys Montauk, but it appears to have been scratched or stamped out
ISOCHRONISM... In horology, a mechanical clock or watch is isochronous if it runs at the same rate regardless of changes in its drive force, so it keeps correct time as the mainspring unwinds. Beautiful watch and very collectible! Thanks for sharing!!
