My first Murano piece that is actually marked! This is one of the most beautiful pieces of glass I have ever seen. I picked this up at a garage sale after reading in the ad that there was Murano glass. I wasn't sure if they would be marked, but I walked in and this beautiful bird was sitting on the table just waiting for me :)
I am not finding too much information on the makers Cimarosti & Pinzan....Any additional information would be wonderful.

    Cheers,

    Rhonda

Difficult! I've put together what I've found below.

Giovanni Pinzan, Bruno Cimarosti and Giovanni Andreotta owned V.A.C. in Murano. Ermanno Nason worked there according to muranonet.com:
      http://www.muranonet.com/unfold-venice/nason-ermanno
But they refer to V.A.M. Rather than V.A.C.. The suggestion there is that Nason was there in the early fifties.
I've seen too that there were links with AVeM.
      Have you seen this site?
      https://sites.google.com/site/muranozoo/
You'll see a similar duck by Vincenzo Nason.

Another good resource for you is this one:

      Another handy one here:

Thank you vetraio50 for the links...interesting to me that there is so little information on a Murano label. I just assumed that any label from a Murano glass piece would be well documented. AVeM doesn't even list either of the names on their 'Master Glass blowers' history. Could they have been apprentices? Seems to me like if they had their own label, they would have had more significance within the company. However, I am still learning how the Murano factories worked, per se.
Also, I have looked through the labels and haven't seen anything like what I have.
The birds by Vincenzo Nason do have some similarities, especially in the wings, same angle.
Thanks for links...I am bound and determined to get the whole scoop, lol. When I do, I'll post an update.

      Cheers,

      Rhonda
