I have been a horse lover since i first came into this world. Ted and I found this solid maple rocking horse at goodwill for $5 -- where else do i shop. Originally this rocking horse had a mop for a mane and painted eyes. I am particularly fond of the arabs and have owned and trained many in my life. As Ted and I worked on her and wanted to give her a new look I decided she needed some surgery done on the nose -- again since i like the look of the arab horse -- her face was re-carved to make it more dish like characteristic of the arabian horse -- next she needed those eyes that can just reach inside you and of course a new do. As we worked on her she began to look a bit British -- so she was christened Esmeralda or Izzy for short. I though she would be a good mare to carry someones doll or teddy bear for showcasing.
Two years ago i had to place my two arabs down for old age -- Esmeralda reminds me every day of my two loves -- pic 4 has been added to this posting -- it is a water coloring that i had done by an artist when they were younger -- it was their pasture on the acreage in nebraska during the winter months -- the red was the mare lay lou and the black was the gelding tres bien or TB & Lacy
thanks phil-- she's another one of my babies -- i had to place both my arabs down two years ago -- old age catches us all -- esmeralda reminds me of them -- plus i had an artist do a watercolor of them when they were younger -- which now i am glad i spent the money to do that -- at the time i knew the money should probably go elsewhere -- but i am so happy i did it -- have a great week and thanks for the lol
hi mustangtony -- yes you are right -- i used a feather boa -- i also like using the chenille boas as there are not feathers flying -- she was our first and was designed with my two arabs that i have to place down 2 years ago -- if you look at pic 4 you will see a watercoloring pic that i had a local artist paint -- that was their pasture in lincoln nebaska -- of course they always had a nice barn to come into during the evenings and during the terrible midwest storms -- hope you are enjoying your christmas day -- hugs
