Pink Depression Glass Fluted Dessert Sherbet Bowl ?
Hello Everyone and Happy Holiday Season to you!
I bought a set of four of these the other day. I THOUGHT it would be an easy research as there is so much out there on depression glass. I can’t seem to find them on the web. Maybe they are not depression glass?
What I do know is: They are pink, they are 3 ¾ tall and about 5 inches across. You can feel the mold lines. I tried using them this afternoon and unless you like small desserts they are pretty useless lol …maybe they are for shrimp and not dessert??? I could try that.
All help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
you have a small compote or comport that is Fenton #231 Rib and Holly Sprig (AKA: Ribbed Holly); was issued in pink ca.1930
Thank you TallCakes :-)
To add to what TC has said, Fenton's Holly is more often found in carnival colors. When iridescent glass started to go out of favor, Fenton used many of their earlier moulds for production in transparent pink and green, which were becoming fashionable.
