Here have two photos of The German Army somewhere in Europe during WWII. If anyone can pinpoint the locations, or have any other info, please share it with The Collectors' Weekly Members...Thank you.

On DC20.2012, I received a clarification on the location from Vetraio50, a CW member. Here is his input: "Hi, it's Paris. The Trocadéro, site of the Palais de Chaillot across the way from the Tour Eiffel."

And I did receive further information from vetraio50 on the second photo.
    Here are his comments:

Hi, again, Ted! Thanks and Season's Greetings to you and yours.
I'm not sure but I think the second one is also in Paris at the Jardins du Luxembourg. They looked at home, nest-ce pas? A dream fulfilled.

Thank you, vetraio50...your input is very appreciated!!!!!

Thank you, Steve! I usually get these items at auctions. Sometimes they are acquired from yard sales and estate liquidations. At times, these cost a lot, more usually, they only set me back a very small amount.

A lot of such photos and other "war souvenirs" arrived with US Veterans after WWII. But these that I have posted, are most intriguing, because they appear to have been taken by a civilian of undetermined nationality. Or maybe a German soldier took these photos while on off duty hours.

Thanks for following me. I will be posting more European WWII items, sometime soon. And as I am always on the lookout for photos like those that I have posted recently, I hope that my stock of such items will increase!

Since my ethnic heritage is European (mainly German & Lithuanian...with some other Nationalities, too), I am extremely interested in the history of Europe.

I would like to wish you, your family and friends a very Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Thank you once again, vetraio50, for information on the second picture. You have been a great help in clarifying these locations.

And yes, the soldiers do look comfortable there. Such is history.....
