BELLIN68 : and Merry Christmas to you also.
I had a request to see the bottom which shows the early Steuben label. The photo came out a bit dark but you can make out what it looks like.
Was that paper label on the bottom of the brown vase or the green vase?
The Brown Aurene....don't know about the green one.
twentiethc : The vase is in mint condition not even a tiny scratch. The woman I bought it from once had a shop. When she closed after her husband died she pached away her stock and that was 35 years ago. She just recently decided to sell this old stock and the Steuben piece was one of them. She also had a Steuben Red Aurene piece in the same shape as the Brown and sold it for $7500.
The label on the Brown piece looks to have age when you see it in person. It has been put away for years. I believe it is absolutely correct. I checked it under high power magnification and there are no "picksels" so it is not a printed copy. It is original to Steuben.
twentiethc : keep your eyes open in the Spring and look toward Fairfield, Maine.
twentiethc : did you read my last note ?
Added new info. about Steuben millefiori.
Does everyone know......Steuben finally closed forever. Even the Flagship store in Manhattan. What a shame...... BUT they lasted for over 100 years.
