Maybe one of the marble seals out of those old bottles?
Blunderbuss... I just so happen to be putting together a very large old bottle??
LOL
I don't know how large those bloody bottles or marbles were. Don't see any other guesses on your thread. You do know about the real old bottles with marbles inside?
Clay shooters?
laugh spirit --, I got things moving didn't I? Sometimes you have to throw dis/mis - information out to get things going. Things are happening now thanks to kevin, who probably still shoots marbles. LOL Kevin, 3 inch is called grape-shot for a 32 pdr. or larger. Have to admit that I never knew any marbles were made of clay. Interesting but totally useless info at my age.
I'm already in my 5th kevin & it didn't help in the 4th. I did make a major decision today. I'm going to be a fireman when I grow up. If you are looking for adult supervision, you must look elsewhere.
hi ya little hobo -- have you been walking those railroad tracks -- these are mill balls used for crushing clinker (cement) or coal -- we find them all the time -- we took some to fort vancouver in washington for some information and that's what they told us -- quite a few mills were located along the columbia river in the 1800s -- so when the water comes up so do the old mill balls -- where did you find yours and were there any mills in your area during that time period
Ah, and Shake & Bake works his magic again!
Sorry Guys!
I got all caught up in the holiday shopping wrapping and stuff! I found a really interesting article... They (the above article) weren't called marbles or taw or shooter.. I will post is as soon as I can find it!
MERRY HAPPY HOLIDAY TO ALL!
