I don't know if anyone remembers Charles' Chips??? I saw these in the basement the other day and had to post this pic. If I remember correctly, a man would drive the truck to your house, come in take your old cans, and give you new cans filled with chips, pretzels, and other goodies. I remember when people used to reuse cans and bottles. Remember what it was like to use a bottle for water more than once????!!!!
thanks mustangtony. I am surprised they arent more rusted, the basement is very damp. I like them though, as kids we weren't allowed to play with them or anything.
LOL!!! and now you gave me the idea to have cupcakes before I go to sleep!!! Later!
We had chips and pretzels delived by Charlie Chip truck. They were the best ever!
We had them delivered too! They make a great gift for anyone with the name!
They were the best. Things like this....just aren't around any more. We used to get our milk delivered a few years ago, but they don't even do that anymore.
thanks to mattyg, bellin68, disneypoppop and mustangtony for the loves!
Great cans and great chips, back in the 1970's I was friends of the sons of the owner of Charles Chips and went to there house and they had a swimming pool in the shape of the chip logo on the can. Great memories.
Anyone know how much these REALLY old ones can be bought for? HELP! LOL
by really old...you mean like late 1970's?
I don't think these cans get much more than 20 or 25 dollars.
Well, old for me is 60s and early 70s. LoL
but, at least I know now that I can afford to get one! Thank you so much.
paulam...I am jk. That is old for me too! The truth is that I haven't seen too many around though. These were in my parents basement. Take care.
I remember these from the 70s!! I saw these in the grocery store not to long ago they wanted if I remember correctly over 20 dollars with the chips too.
I noticed that they started selling these again too. but they are in bags not cans anymore.
I thought it was kind of cool, but not 20 dollars cool!
These used to be everywhere when I was little. Not so much anymore.
Seriously. Yeah, we used to have a truck deliver them to our house.
