    A very nice hand blown green glass vase with applied sterling silver overlay, any ideas as to who might of made it, or age? and should I shine the silver or leave it as is ?

      imho, it's very dangerous to properly polish these. the amount of silver is very very minimal and it does come off. you commonly see these with very little silver remaining and if it is polished the parts that are almost gone or are gone on this will stick out like a sore thumb.

      and you'll probably lose some more of the silver in the process as well. YMMV though..
