A group of 3 different early product jar types of similar design for vacuum packed food items. The No.72 jars were patented by William A Lorenz for Beech-Nut Packing Company of Canajoharie New York . Patent Number 747451. The Feb. 10 1903 jars appear to have been patented by Carl C Giles and Granville H Gray of Indiana possibly for The Golden Gate Fruit Jar Co. Patent No. 720,129. This type of jar was produced by the millions but are hard to find today in undamaged condition and the lids appear to be very hard to find.
