My wife bought this vase in a charity shop recently and I am quite fond of it . There are no labels or makers names on it and I am curious as to the maker may be. It is balluster in shape andi it has gold flecks embedded in the lower half of the vase and the glass has a ribbed effect pattern to the finish. It is 8" in height and 41\2" at it widest point. I have seen the shape on the Loetz glass web site but it is not exactly irridescent. The glass is quite heavy for it's size as if it was lead crystal. There is no pontil on the underside and makers mark . I know that Murano used gold flecks in some of their designs buy I haven't found this shape in the Murano collection I would be most grateful for any information anyone can supply me. Thank you looking. Eric
Hi. I just bought one two weeks ago at the Great Indoors (a home decor big box store). The tag on it was Dale Tiffany. I also bought a charger plate and two lamps from the same collection, but they are black glass and aventurine. The gold flecks, if coppery in color, are aventurine.
Hi Shenandoah,
I am most grateful for your info on this vase. I had no idea that it was Tiffany. Thanks . Regards Eric
Hi Eric Dale Tiffany is not the " Tiffany " .
Hi Ozmarty,
So Dale Tiffany is not the "Tiffany " glass company but another company altogether then?. I wasn't aware there was a different "Tiffany" , many thanks for the info Regards Eric
