May I present Gerald the Giraffe? This stylized wooden giraffe is a gift from Santa AmberRose! He’s a delightful fellow. Body is finished in light brown enamel paint, with darker brown accents, cream color hooves, and yellow enameled eyes. This ‘antennae’ are wooden orbs. I used Gerald on my Christmas tea table (photo one), and in my nativity ensemble on my mantel. Gerald was there pinch-hitting for the camel. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, AMBERROSE!!!!! : )
I didn't see a category for wooden animals, so my secondary listing identifies him as "animal folk art".
Thank you very much, Bellin, mustangtony, and vetraio50 for your kind appreciation!! : )
Well Gerald is a versatile actor, a camel wouldn't be a stretch. Love the scarf, perfect winter addition. Too cute!
Why is Santa carrying the head of an elf? It is cracking me up!
Thank you very much, AmberRose and walksoftly, for your kind appreciation and comments !!! : )
AmberRose, Tomte is carrying a pixie/elf/brownie head from a figural pixie that adorned a ceramic dish my grandparents had. The dish and pixie body shattered, but I loved the pixie and saved the head. When I couldn't find a candle small enough to fit the Tomte before Christmas, I used the elf head to cover the hole. You would have loved the pixie dish! Here's one very similar - sans leaf:
